Although the procedures for tracheal, bronchial, and carinal surgery have been practiced for a long time, a comprehensive book compiling these surgery strategies has yet been published. Therefore, we came up with the idea of this new publication-Tracheal, Bronchial and Carinal Surgery.
The tracheal surgery chapter of the book covers various topics such as indications and the surgical operative techniques of a tracheal sleeve pneumonectomy, non-intubated resection, complications after resection and reconstruction, laryngeal mask for airway management in open tracheal surgery, and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery resection. The bronchial surgery chapter includes topics in extended sleeve lobectomy, bronchovascular reconstruction, and uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) sleeve resections. The carinal surgery chapter give a detailed review on carinal resection and sleeve pneumonectomy. As anesthesia plays a significant role in these surgeries, the last chapter provides a review on anesthesia for trachea and bronchus surgery. The technical tips of in the book are practical for surgeons in their daily practices. We hope that the book will be a valuable piece of literature for physicians, surgeons, and researchers in the field.
