Dr Anthony P Yim is internationally acclaimed for his pioneering work in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery. After his retirement from thoracic surgery in 2017, he decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming an artist. This art album contains two hundreds and twenty seven pieces of artwork by Dr Yim in four categories, namely, porcelain, watercolour, acrylic and Chinese painting. All these works, apart from the one shown in the Preface, were completed between January 2016 and March 2018, and, collectively, they document not only his personal achievement in the pursuit of art, but also the sharp transition from a surgeon into an artist. His journey should provide some insight not only for people approaching retirement who are looking for a hobby, but also for those who already have an interest in art and are considering taking it up more professionally.
